Shoot Every Day? Yes. Blog Every Day? Erm, No.

Not for lack of trying, either. I am continuing my 365 Project without a hitch, or not much of one. The trouble is, despite shooting every day, I don’t always upload every day. I have a lot happening. I have recently written two pieces for Elephant Journal, finally inspired to write my own stuff. I am still writing non-stop for Visions. And I am teaching yoga to tweens and teens 2x a week. I am busy and inspired beyond words but that also means I am chronically behind. I either need a clone or to give myself a break and allow myself to be behind. Stress over creating art is ridiculous, really. So, here’s a couple weeks worth of images to peruse. If  you are so inspired, check out my page at the 365Project! I think I left off around Day 35 and we are now at Day 64. Yeah. Special, I know. So, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and enjoy.

Someone is Behind: 365 Project days 32-35

I better get my bum in gear! I have fallen behind and think I even uploaded two I shot in the same day. Oh well, no one is perfect.

I love this cat to the moon and back, but his wild side has demonic qualities. God forbid he runs out of food… if that happens, wear armor.

Sometimes our hearts are broken apart, and sometimes they are broken open, but with each crack, each crumble, comes an opportunity for transformation.

365 Project: Days 26-30 — Life Rolls On.

Took a break from daily posts. It was starting to consume my life, this project, and that’s not at all what it is supposed to do. It has, however, sparked some insane creativity, and for that, I am grateful. Having my camera out every day is a beautiful thing.

The wonderful Jessica Rosen (owner of One Down Dog), her husband Daniel, and their lovely dog Patrick, who is THE OG Down Dog, hanging out at the Photo Booth I hosted on the 26th.

This past Monday, I started teaching yoga to teens at my son’s school. It feels right in my bones, and I realize how much I adore this age group. Sure, I want to teach adults at some point, but to share a practice so dear to me with these kids is a true honor.

And today, well, today was weird. It started out rough, had some sweetness in the middle and then, bam, the shit hit the fan.

Days 21 and 22: A Blur

I barely got my shots in yesterday and today, but I am committed. Sick, tired, whatever, an image is going to be created. Stubborn? Me? Ha. Enjoy.

365Project: Playing Catch-Up

Days 16 – 20 got by me. But here they are.

Day 16: An outtake from a LoveMore shoot. The real images are still being edited. But I couldn’t resist using this:

Day 17: Sometimes it’s Texture, sometimes…it’s just a pineapple. This has become a favorite.

Day 18: Religious artifacts? Say what? Well, I was assisting a dear friend on a wedding shoot. What can I say. Oh, and it adds up to 13:

Day 19: I couldn’t resist a quintessential sunset.

Day 20: Let’s be honest, this was shot on Day 19, but 365 wasn’t having it. So, here it is: Reflection– Windows provide an opportunity to look in and look out. Often times what we see is distorted, but what if we look at windows as an opportunity to find beauty within the distortion? We are not always what we see.

This has been a real adventure, let me tell you.

Day 14: Bust a Gut

Tell jokes, laugh at your own foibles and try to enjoy every moment. The kid in you appreciates it.

This young man never fails to make me laugh. Ever. He’s in my son’s taekwondo class and watching him crack himself up tonight reminded me of how joyful childhood is and how far we veer from that silliness when we grow up. So, I dedicate this image to the grownups who need laughter the most. Go on, Bust a Gut!

Day 11 and 12: My 365 Project

Day 11: Inspired by the view from the new One Down Dog  space.

Day 12: Inspired by the lights in a tunnel, reminding of of the natural pauses we need to take, no matter how fast we are moving.
